Hi Friends!

Peruvian Food section

On Saturday, Sara and I went to Megamart (a Latin supermarket) on a journey to find Peruvian snacks (this was our 2nd trip to find snacks from Peru)!  Our Sup! Peru show just came out so we wanted to learn even more about Peruvian food.  It was a little harder than we thought it would be to find Peruvian snacks at Megamart.  We found a lot of food from Mexico and El Salvador.  In our search we found interesting food items like dried shrimp and sea moss in a can!  We did finally find a whole section of Peruvian foods.  We picked out plantain strips, fried and dried Peruvian corn, and dried fava beans (we had both of those things in our Peruvian episode, except they were fresh) and a passion fruit drink.

After we went to the market we came home to taste all of the snacks on Facebook Live and Instagram Live.  I liked everything we tried, but our favorite snack was the Dulce de Leche (a Peruvian Carmel spread) on a Peruvian cookie. We also bought a guayaba (guava) at the market but it was not ripe so we didn’t cut it on the live stream.  I cut it later in the week, you can see pictures and a video below.  You can still watch us trying our snacks on our YouTube channel.  Keep an eye out for our next Snacking Around the World adventure…we are going to try Russian snacks.  See you soon!

Dulce de leche…YUM!

Dig in!
