Hi Friends!

Heavy groceries!

On Friday I was on a mission to find ingredients for a St. Patrick’s Day Irish feast! Sara was busy, so I was on my own (well, with my Mom). We had to go to three different stores to find everything we needed for the traditional cornbeef & cabbage and Irish soda bread.  Trader Joe’s had the beef brisket but they did not have the buttermilk for the Irish soda bread.  We tried our local Korean Market (Hanareum) next.  They didn’t have the buttermilk, but we found a really big carrot that was perfect for our cornbeef & cabbage dish (if you watch the below video you will see the carrot…it was awesome)! Can you believe we went to a Korean Market for our Irish feast! 🙂

Fact: Did you know that we went to Hanareum for our first Snacking Around the World Live!?

Anyway…we still needed the buttermilk, so we went to Giant, another supermarket.  We were able to find the buttermilk and my mom bought green sherbet for a special treat!

St. Patrick’s Day FEAST!

When we got home I made the cornbeef & cabbage and Sara made the Irish soda bread.  Irish soda bread does not actually have soda in it!  Just baking soda!  Did you know that in Ireland they traditionally made their St. Patrick’s Day meal with pork, not beef!?

Me trying the cornbeef.

My mom made pesto pasta because it’s green …but mostly because Sara is vegetarian.  Our Mom’s treat for us was a green drink made with sprite and lime sherbet. YUM!  Sara and I had a lot of fun trying and making our Irish meal!

Below you can watch the Instagram Story we made while shopping and cooking.  Below the video are links to the recipes we used if you want to try.  We hope you had a wonderful St. Patrick’s Day.  See ya lads!

Dig in!
