Hi Sup’er! 👩🏽🍳👨🏽🍳 Soup’s on today! Courtesy of our favorite Three Sisters: corn, squash and beans. Over many generations Native Americans have perfected a method for growing these three crops (called companion planting). The corn is planted first and when it is about 6 inches high, the beans and squash are planted around the stalk. The beans add nitrogen to the soil, important for all three plants. The corn stalks serve as a climbing structure for the beans, and the squash spreads on the ground helping to prevent weeds. Genius! Click here for the recipe card.
